Prince Mojeed Oshiorenua Momoh

Born to the Momoh Royal family on 20th December, 1969. Prince Mojeed Oshiorenua Momoh attended Momoh Primary school (1974 – 80), Otaru Grammar School (1980-82), Immaculate Conception College Benin City (1982-85), University of Benin, (1985-1991). Residency training was at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (1996-2000) – West Africa Postgraduate Medical College. He was at the Apex Nigerian institute – The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru in 2010. He holds the MB;BS degree from the University of Benin; Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), and membership of the national Institute (mni). He also holds several certificates on management, leadership and health financing from the World Bank Institute (WBI) and the University of Washington.

Dr. Momoh had his housemanship at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (1991 – 1992), the mandatory NYSC was at the Nigeria Police Clinic, Abeokuta. He joined the services of Otibhor Okhae Teaching Hospital, Irrua as a medical officer in 1993. Proceeded to UBTH for his residency training programme in 1996 and obtained the fellowship in 2000. He returned to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital as a consultant in 2001. He joined the services of Ambrose Alli University as a honorary Lecturer in 2004. He is currently a consultant Special Grade 1 and An Associate Professor.

He has held several administrative positions – Head, Department of O&G ISTH and AAU Ekpoma. He was pioneer Dep. Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (DCMAC), Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee – Director, Clinical Services & Training (CMAC) ISTH. He was also a member of the Board of Management of the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital Irrua and member of the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

He has acted as external Examiner to several universities in O&G, Areas of research interest includes maternal health and Lassa fever. He is a member of the National Lassa Fever Stakeholders Forum.

A member of the Egielemheasimi age group, he is currently the Chairman, Midwest Sector of the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON) and council member of SOGON. He is the Charter President of Rotary Club of Irrua Frontline. He is an avid golfer, a former secretary and treasurer of Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS).

He is married to Dr. Nanaishat Momoh and are blessed with children.
