PRINCE MOHAMMED MOMOH
Prince Mohammed Momoh was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, on 22nd March, 1965 to the family of Late Prince K.D Momoh.
He attended Ibadan City Council Primary School, Mokola, Ibadan; Ahmadiyya Grammar School, Eleyele, Ibadan and the prestigious University of Ibandan where he bagged his first (B.Sc Botany) and second degree (M.Sc Agric Biology) in 1987 and 1989 respectively.
He did his National Youth Service at Bayero University Kano in 1987/1988 Service Year and joined the service of the National Youth Service Corps as an Agric Officer II on 14th November 1991. He rose through the ranks and in recognition of his outstanding qualities, commitment to duty, exemplary leadership traits and brilliant performance at his various duty posts, he was promoted to the rank of director on 1st January, 2021.
He has had quite a rich tour of duties across various formations of the Scheme. These include: NYSC Yobe State (1991-1993); NYSC Oyo State (1993-1996); NYSC Akwa Ibom State (1996-2001); NYSC Bauchi State (2001-2006); Community Development Service and Special Projects Department; NYSC National Directorate Headquarter, Abuja (2006-2015).
He was thereafter appointed as the 22nd State Coordinator of NYSC Kaduna State from October, 2015 to 4th January, 2017; and 19th State Coordinator of Lagos State NYSC Lagos State from 5th January, 2017 to 31st May, 2019. Upon completion of his tour of duty as State Coordinator, he was posted to NYSC NDHQ, Abuja as Deputy Director (Factory and Services) NYSC Ventures Management Department 2019-2020, Director Ventures Management Department, 2021 till date.
His leadership of the Ventures Management Department is already attracting commendations of all and sundry.
Prince Momoh has attended courses both locally and internationally.
His hard work, dedication to duty and drive for excellence has earned him various awards and commendation. This include; He won NYSC Oyo State staff merit award (1994), NYSC NDHQ Staff Merit Award (1995 and 1996), Director-General’s commendation for outstanding performance in the conduct of 2016 Batch ‘B’ stream I Orientation Course as State Coordinator NYSC Kaduna (2017).
He has equally contributed to the growth of the scheme through his membership of very strategic committees which has contributed to the sustenance of the relevance of the scheme. He led NYSC teams in some development programmes and collaborations which made a huge impact in grassroots development.
In recognition of his contribution to youth empowerment and community development he was turbaned as the ‘Oshioze’ of Auchi Sacred Kingdom on 21st July, 2021.
His hobbies include mentoring of youths, football, reading and travelling.
