ALHAJI PRINCE ABDULKAREEM AHMAD MOMOH

Alhaji Prince Abdulkareem Momoh had a very humble beginning. He was born at the Royal Palace to the immediate family of late Mallam Ahmad Ekah 77 Momoh (Popularly called 7 7) and Alhajia Mrs Ramotu C Momoh (Popularly called Christiana) in April 1960. He lived his early childhood life with his parents at the Otaru palace while keeping very close companionship with both Late HRH Abukeremi Momoh and Late HRH Alhaji Ahmad Guruza Momoh during their life time. He was closely under the tutelage of the late Ogbachi of Auchi Madam Adi Momoh and Late Prince A.B.C. Momoh. ISLAMIC EDUCATION He started his educational career with the Islamic wooden slate (ano) night studies and graduated to reading the mini Quran (Bagdad) and finally studying the full Quran at different Islamic schools before graduating with the wolimat Quran. He attended various Islamic vacation courses, serminars and advanced certificated general Islamic and Quranic memorisation courses at Auchi, Abuja and Lagos. As a devoted muslim, he has undertaken the Holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina several times. He has also sponsored some other muslim devotees on pilgrimages to these Holy land. ENGLISH GREGORIAN ACADEMIC EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS He started his primary education at the then Muslim (now MOMOH) primary school, Auchi and had his First school leaving certificate in 1972. He proceeded to Esigie college Abudu in 1974 and had a Teacher’s Grade Two certificate in 1979. He then entered Auchi Polytechnic in 1980 where he obtained Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accountancy in 1982 and The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy in 1985. He went further to obtain BSC Accountancy in 2013 and MSC Accountancy in 2018 from Imo state University, Owerri. He attended the Institute of Transformatory Thoughts and Learning ( Doctorial Research Centre and University) Arizona-USA (2012 – 2013) where he obtained MBA Entrepreneurship ( December 2013) He also obtained MBA Finance Management in 2015 from Ladoke Akintola University, Oyo State. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS WITH DATES: At the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (I C A N) – He got Chartered as an Associate member, ACA (December 1991), and became a Fellow member, FCA (Jan 2002), At the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria   ( C I T N ) – He got chartered as Associate member, ACTI (April 1999) and later become a Fellow Member, FCTI (May 2005). At the Management Consultancy Level, he got chartered as a Chartered Member of the Nigerian Management Consultants (CMC) and  was later conferred with fellowship status (FIMC) of the International Institute of Management Consultants in March 2022. WORKING CAREER He started his working career as a trained Grade II Teacher at Ansarudeen Primary Auchi in 1979. He joined the Defunct Nigerian External Telecommunications Limited in August 1982. He left on study leave without pay for HND programme and resumed back to NET Ltd in 1985 after his HND and NYSC. He proceeded steadily from Audit Officer 1 (Level 8) and had to work at different states, Territories and Zones all over Nigeria before returning to the corporate Headquarters in 1996 as an Assistant Manager. He later rose through the Manager and Senior Manager cadres to become Deputy General Manager in 2004 from which he was immediately appointed as the Acting General Manager of Audit Department in NITEL Nationwide. NITEL PLC was later privaticed and sold immediately to preferred bidders but few of the staff including him were still reabsorbed to continue in service at its privatization. He resigned from NITEL PLC to join Intercellular Nigeria plc in 2010 as the Head of their Internal Audit Department. In 2014,  he left the Telecommunications industry  to join the Audit Practice firm of Messrs. S S Afemikhe & Co where he commenced  public Audit practical field training and Practice Career for over five years. He joined HARUNA YAHAYA & CO later in 2020 were he secured his practice license with the attested practical field experience from S S Afemikhe & Co to enable him commence independent practice and consultancy career.. OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE AND SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY; He has served in various administrative capacities in the public and private sectors, formal and informal organisations and in various other bodies like ICAN District Societies, NASFAT branch administrations and adhoc committees, at Auchi Allied Association as the Worldwide pioneer Executive President and Head of different adhoc and standing committees. He is an active member of the Elite Etsako Club ’81 and also a very active memberr of the current outstandingly hilarious (ADF) Auchi Development Foundation. He also belong to the Unshakable Umaokpoghomha Age Group Union Auchi. He was even elected as Chairman of Landlords Association at Area 11, Garki in Abuja and Lagos et cetera and have also acted  in voluntary capacities in other groups and Associations. “In my little way, I have also assisted many to go to schools and paid their school fees, I have also assisted some to undergo professional trainings with which they were able to get settled and cater for their families today, many others were assisted to secure suitable accommodations in the cities, some were even assisted to secure usable vehicles of their own without loans, while some were assisted to commence surviving businesses.” AWARDS, CERTIFICATES AND TROUPHIES RECEIVED He have received several awards, certificates, Letters and Trouphies of special Commendations and Special recognition from several bodies, agencies and organisations over the while and some of those worthy of mentioning here are;-

  • Elected as their first National President and Served two consecutive terms of two years each (1992 to 1996).

  • Member of scholarship award committee for a while,

At NITEL PLC, (1982 to 2010), Alhaji Abdulkareem Momoh;
  • Served as member of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) committee for NITEL core and non-core assets nationwide and the settlement of communal interest in NITEL properties (2006 – 20010). Et cetera
  • Coordinated the management committee on assets disposal for years.
  • Served as member of projects inspection and commissioning committee for years.
  • Headed the Co-operative society of NET Ltd staff for one year 1982/1983 and served for several other years thereafter during which we established cooperative farms, poultry projects, facilitated essential commodities trading and various other commercial trading operations profitably. Facilitated the giving out of staff loans for various staff welfare projects.
  • Served as joint action committee member that liaises between NET Ltd management and staff for years
At Intercellular Nigeria plc Lagos, 2010 – 2014; he served as;

Extra curricular activities: He is a great lover of indoor and outdoor sports and plays football and cheers games very well. He enjoys travelling and taking part in communal and religious charitable organizational activities and meetings. He is a jolly good fellow who is very much admired by his juniors, elders, peer  groups and associates.
